In International Karate, an Atari game classic, your aim is to win 2 rounds against your opponents and win the matches. International Karate simulates a Karate competition in which 2 fighters compete against each other in every round. During the single player mode a fight lasts 30 seconds. For each hit you either get half a point or a full point. The one who has 2 points first when the time has run out wins. If you get half a point or one point is decided by the referee. If you lose once, the tournament is over and you enter the high-score with your number of points and the belt color you have reached (which rises during the course of the game). During the 2 player mode a fight lasts 60 seconds. And there are 12 points. If a player hits, he will be rewarded a point, the opponent will lose a point. If a player has all 12 points or the most points when the time is over, he will win the fight. If he wins 2 fights, he wins the whole game. The History of International Karate
This classic video game was originally released in 1987, published by System 3 Video Games and mainly developed by Archer Maclean. International Karate was a single or two player game of the beat em up sports sim genre. The object of the International Karate video game is very straightforward. The player takes the role of one of the three fighters, and the idea is to be the first fighter to reach six points. There is also a bonus game that appears every two rounds. During the bonus rounds the player has to simply punch and kick away balls or bombs. The classic International Karate game was also famous for it's Easter eggs, which could be accessed by typing out a code or a single letter. These include the following; Whenever the the T button was pressed the characters trousers fell down. A Pacman would appear in the background when typing in his name. Typing in peri would make a periscope appear.
